“The triumph of Georgian flavors” this is the only headline that can genuinely describe all comments and emotions that UK locals had while visiting Georgia’s pavilion at National Geographic Traveller Food Festival held in London, in July 2024
"The Triumph of Georgian Flavors" – this is the only headline that truly captures the comments and emotions of UK locals who visited Georgia’s pavilion at the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival, held in London in July 2024.
Georgian cuisine was introduced to Londoners by two of the country’s top chefs, Tekuna Gachechiladze and Guram Bagdoshvili—renowned for re-imagining traditional Georgian dishes and putting Georgia on the world cuisine map as an emerging gastronomic travel destination. Their modern twist on centuries-old recipes has gained widespread recognition. Visitors to the Georgian Pavilion had the privilege of tasting the jewels of this cuisine, including Khinkali (Georgian dumplings) with meat, cheese, and mushroom fillings, presented by Chef Guram Bagdoshvili. The dishes, paired with top-notch pastries like Khachapuri and Pkhlovana, quickly vanished from plates, a testament to their irresistible appeal.
The queen of Georgian cuisine, Tekuna Gachechiladze, delighted the audience with a masterpiece of Georgian culinary art—Pkhali. Georgian Pkhali is a prime example of genuine Umami, where spinach, beetroot, and pumpkin are combined with a magical walnut paste, resulting in something truly authentic, delicious, and incredibly healthy.
